Topic 11 Gamification in Education
I enjoyed the virtual reality portion of this topic, I played a game and was able to pick things up virtually. I enjoyed seeing all the graphics for this game and the cool detail it had. I think it would be awesome to have this type of virtual reality in our language that would be awesome. I would like to learn how to do a 360 in our language, next on my list. For the Bad News portion this was also a good game and I know that older kids would enjoy this. It does go to show how fake news and spreading lies on social media has repercussions. It is a good teaching tool for kids in the middle school age. The more fake news the higher the followers. I also enjoyed the digital escape room, this would be something that can be done in language, the cools and the things inside the room maybe like a kitchen. I think that would be a lot of fun for a family to try to escape with cools in language keeping it simple for them.
The only downfall I feel for all of this type of technology: gamification in education a lot of our First Nations families have poor wifi, limited access to computers and this would be a limitation. This can be done in our classroom together this is one way around it.
Topic 6 Technology and Inquiry
This was a good topic. I like the idea of see, think and wonder. I know we can do this in language. For the sketch that I worked on I used things that our water does, so a poster on condensation. This could be taught as science, language and art. This would be good for the kids I teach now grade 1/2. I incorporated as much language as I could in the sketch note. For this topic I do not see any cons only pros. It could be simple or more elaborate.
